Today we will meet for meditation Sunday, August 2nd from 6 – 7:30 pm in the Walker Room (or possibly in the garden if the group opts for that, bug spray and cushion advised, or use a chair from inside)
Mark will choose the reading from our Pema Chodron book. Next week we are in need of a volunteer to choose the reading from the book that we have at UUBN. No preparation needed.
All welcome, participation in discussion optional. We will follow the usual meditation practice (20 minutes sitting, 20 minutes optional walking, 20 minutes sitting followed by the reading and discussion for the last 30 minutes). Perhaps some weeks we could do the short reading before the meditation (max 10 minutes) as to have a fresh focus of the reading for the meditation portion. Then the group could discuss the reading or the experience during the last 20 minutes. The group can use consensus to do this format when they chose.
The group messages that are sent out will appear on the under the Blog section tab, you will also find a link to the Facebook page on the website. There are many other features and resources there, including suggested readings and websites on meditation and Buddhism as well as our lending library. Please review the Group Agreements on the website from time to time or if you are new to the group.
